Custom Made for Harry West in 1976. Made by Jeff Harrison and Rolfe Gerhardt two hundred years after the Declaration of Independence July 4, 1776 . This has to be some of the most beautiful Maple wood I have ever seen on a mandolin back & Sides. A very nice job done by Jeff and Rolfe on this Mandolin. It has great sound and tonal response and the finish work is beyond exceptional.
Harry (My Father) is a very patriotic Person and LOVES The U S A. He wanted this mandolin to be somewhat of a patriotic piece with stars inlay on the fingerboard and the Bald Eagle with shield and arrows on the headstock. Green is Harry's and my favorite color and Every time I look at the back of this mandolin I just cannot get over how beautiful it is with the translucent green and the highly figured maple back and sides. We like the color green not because it is the color of money, But because it is the color of trees plants and Growth and so on.
